Every racer set to tackle the upcoming 100th Anniversary Manx Grand Prix, is competing with a specific aim to accomplish.
This includes targeting race wins, podiums, top six finishes, top ten finishes, bronze replica finishes, just simply to finish the race they are competing in.
In Cleethorpes Jeff Smith’s case, his main goal for his latest MGP tenure as in 2022, is attaining a top 20 finish in the Carole Nash Classic Senior race.
Astride again the RobSpeed Motorcycles, Beeson Plumbing backed Matchless/Seeley 500, which features a Minnovation prepped engine, the 125-Post Classic winner at this year’s Pre-TT Classic stated recently:
“I’m really proud to be part of the centenary Manx event and hopefully I’ll be able to retain my top 20 result.
I have number 34 as my assigned number so that should help to enable plenty of practice to be completed.
As I have done each year when the Island entries are first confirmed I stopped shaving, my beard is now somewhat out of control as the entries were confirmed quite early! I’m very superstitious and don’t shave again until everyone is home safe.
I’d also like to thank the Talk of the Town, Nobles Park, Douglas for the help and support they give each year.”
