Alongside leading Norton’s TT 2018 challenge, Josh Brookes latest TT tilt will now also include competing on YZF R6/YZF R1 machinery, in the Monster Energy Supersport, Royal London 360 Quantum Superstock races, for present British Superbike championship employers, McAMS Yamaha.
One of a select group of racers to have lapped the Mountain Course, at over the 130 mph mark, former fastest newcomer in history, Brookes, has steadily in recent times developed into a top class exponent, of the most famous road racing circuit in the world.
Winner last year of the Senior Classic TT, the ex BSB champion is certain to be one to watch, across all classes at TT 2018.
Speaking about the McAMS Yamaha Supersport/Superstock steeds, for his fourth TT campaign, he candidly stated:
“I’m obviously keen to ride as many classes as possible, to test myself on different machinery and just as importantly to continue to build up my Island knowledge, which you can only do with extended track time.
It took a while to come together but I’m really happy to be riding a YZF-R6 and YZF-R1 in team colours, the Supersport bike especially has been really strong previously. Ideally we’ll get good weather during practice week and get used to these two very different bikes.”
