His high quality stable of machinery is completed via the Rea Racing GSX-R 600 Suzuki, for the Monster Energy supersport races.

Commenting on his TT 2016 plans, Ben said:

“While we are very excited to be on the VRS Fireblade its also great to be once again on a 650 twin. Last year I rode the CMS machine and Tony Morris supplied us with a great bike.

When we look back at 2015 I never failed to finish without a podium or trophy on it including tracks I hadn’t rode before.

I podiumed at Aberdare park road races, Anglesey grand, Cookstown 100, Aintree club where I also finished second in two championships despite not contesting every round, Oliver’s mount and the post TT on the Billown circuit. Of course winning a replica in the lightweight TT was amazing”

Adding that the opportunity to compete across all classes at TT 2016, is an exciting moment in his developing career at TT Races, he said:

“2015 was great for me, I improved in all areas around the TT course so to get 3 bikes for 2016 excites me greatly as I can step up to the big class so long as my entry gets accepted.

After taking the big classic bike to 116 mph and winning a silver replica in the 2015 classic TT I feel both confident and ready to circulate on a modern 1000cc.”

Dad and fellow pure road racer Nigel Rea added:

“Its great that Ben can take the next step and contest the bigger classes on the Fireblade.

We feel that his learning has built up in a steady but sure manner starting on a 400 then progressing to 650 twin, 250 GP bike then on to the 600 supersport and classic TT XR69.”

Robbie Silvester, VRS Racing team owner, was full of praise, for the recent addition to his team.

“Ben has served his apprenticeship over the last few years and proven that he’s not only a very capable rider but some one who has a good understanding of how a bike works, we are looking forwards to working with him for the season ahead where I am sure his potential will shine even brighter.”

VRS Racing have over the years ran many a famous name in pure road racing.

They include 11 times TT winner Ian Hutchinson, 2006 senior Manx Grand Prix winner Craig Atkinson, Martin Jessopp, James Cowton, Glenn Irwin, Jamie Hamilton, Sandor Bitter, Russ Mountford and Keith Pringle.

Ben Rea is the latest talented rider, confirmed to compete for the popular outfit.

A highly enterprising two weeks of roads action is anticipated at TT 2016 for him, in particular in the lightweight race, don’t be surprised to see him gaining a silver replica finish.
