Ryan Dixon’s quest to regain the Welsh Open title, started in prosperous fashion today at Wales real roads gem, Aberdare Park.
Dixon jockeying the Trickbits Racing Moto 2 Triumph, grasped opening Welsh Open race honours by a touch over four seconds with TH Racing’s Jay Bellers Smith lead pursuer.
1.2 seconds adrift of Bellers Smith was current feature race title-holder Mark Goodings.
VRS Racing’s Andy Smart, captured fourth, his same finishing position as achieved in last month’s blue-riband race of the Oliver’s Mount, Cock O’The North Road Races.
Fellow Scarborough regulars Joey Lambden, Brandon Brinded enclosed the first six finishers.
Spots seventh to tenth were seized by Aaron Matthews, Aberdare newcomers Lewis Jones, Dean McMaster and Justin ‘Wee Man’ Collins.
Six extra participants completed the 12-lap race span, Martin Robbins (11th), Max Dixon (12th), Matt Bell (13th), Chris McGoran (14th), Mike Knorr (15th) and William Holland (16th).
