After 600cc, Twins themed action, the big bikes, the Superbikes and the slightly smaller in power terms Superstock machines graced the mythical, fabled Mountain Course.
Quickest from a standing start was DAO Racing Kawasaki’s Dean Harrison, capturing a lap speed of 130.752 mph, yes you read that right!
Harrison’s second lap, saw him go almost 1 mph quicker, lapping at 131.674 mph, equating timing wise to 17:11.550 seconds.
Second best behind Harrison was esteemed rival, nine times TT winner Peter Hickman (131.254).
Carrying on the form that took him to the helm of the earlier Supersport, Super Twins sessions, Michael Dunlop aboard his own squads Honda, stormed to Superstock Q1 honours, registering a standing start lap time of 17:21.418 seconds.
Post heroics on stock 1000 machinery, Dunlop close to the 1000cc session’s conclusion, looked good to make it quickest in all four solo categories today.
Could he wrap up this unique achievement? Answer yes via a lap speed of 131.782 mph (17:10.700 seconds).
Outside of Dunlop, Harrison, Hickman, respective fourth-tenth fastest Superbike runners were John McGuinness MBE (129.398), Conor Cummins (129.081), second rapidest Superstock pilot Jamie Coward (129.017).
Davey Todd (128.211), LAMI OMG Racing’s James Hillier (127.581), SMT Racing’s Rob Hodson (126.848) and astride the Moto GP derived RC213V-S Honda, Michael Rutter (125.888).
