By Regrettably there will be no road race action across Southern Ireland in 2020, following the recent announcement that the East Coast Racing Festival like Skerries, Faugheen, Walderstown, the Munster 100 has had to be abandoned due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
A statement issued via Facebook by East Coast Racing Festival detailing as to why roads competition won’t be gracing Killalane this year, is as follows:
“Following guidance from our governing body Motorcycling Ireland, it is with regret that we announce the cancellation of the East Coast Motorcycling Festival 2020.
We appreciate all the work that has already gone into the event, however, it’s the safety of our members, supporters, riders and the wider community that is paramount during these unprecedented times.
We hope you and your families stay safe and see you all again for an even bigger and better 2021.

Whilst the news that roads events won’t be taking place within Southern Ireland this year is horrendous for fans, marshals, teams, riders, organisers, the focus must now be on 2021.
Irish road racing has over the years been through various challenging scenarios and always come back in determined fashion.
Their is light at the end of the tunnel, it might seem like this at present for the pure road racing community but we’ve got to keep positive.
