The busy autumn racing time in Germany, started with IRRC, EST-RRC (European Super Twin – Road Race Challenge) season finales at Frohburger Dreieck and continued last week via the final IDM (Internationale Deutsche Motorradmeisterschaft) final round at the legendary Hockenheimring, former F1 and motorcycle Grand Prix races circuit with long storied history, changing circuit layouts since its inception in 1932.

Additional notable Germany based events coming up soon are back-to-back weekend events, the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben hosted Sidecar Festival incorporating the Finale of Sidecar World Championship (Sprint race this Saturday 4:15 PM and main race on Sunday 2:20 PM – local time) and the Finale of DLC (Deutscher Langstrecken Cup) with 6 Hours Endurance Race also held at Oschersleben.

Standout racers set to take in these events include World Sidecars Championship leaders, former TT Races pilots Harry Payne/Kevin Rousseau, nearest title chasers Christie brothers Sam and Tom, Germany’s fastest TT racer, 2024 IRRC Superbike Champion David ‘Datziii’ Datzer (DLC race entrant with Team Harley Davidson Bagger Racing on H-D Road Glide ST).

Now back to the IDM finale where Toni Finsterbusch swooped a new IDM Superbike lap-record (1.25.142), Ducati powered Lukas Tulovic wrapped up on 2025 series title honours.

But for us, it is more important to illustrate the feats of roads scene aces, new wave, next generation, experienced, participating.

P7 x2, also P7 overall in final IDM Supersport 2025 classification was Marvin Siebdrath, double winner of August’s IRRC Schleizer Dreieck Supersport races. Double runner-up from the same races, Switzerland rider Damien Raemy, Supersport results tally at Hockenheimring was a non-finisher in Race 1 and P14 in the second race exploration.

The new Sportbike class saw Varsselring, Hengelo lap-record holder Sasha De Vits (second in this year’s EST-RRC Championship behind Jamie Williams) acquire fourth, third place finishes.

Motorradtke GYTR by Penz13 Team’s Justin Hanse and Cedric Holme Nielsen, fresh from Super Twins race podium finishing performances at Frohburg, recorded two top eight, four top twelve placings between them. Daytona 660 Triumph mounted Ben Kugler, an IRRC Schleiz wildcard in 2024, also competed, registering thirteenth, fourteenth place finishes.

Winner of both races Pro Superstock 1000 was Ricardo Brink (experienced with Hengelo-Varsselring), and he was-supplemented by young talent, IRRC Schleiz, IRRC Frohburg SBK front runner this year, Freddie Heinrich (P5 in Race 1, did not finish Race 2).

The Twin Cup category races contained Michael Gotz, two-times winner in this class from the previous weekend’s action at Frohburg. Plus, others recently on Frohburger Dreieck racing duties like Timo Kruger, Till Weiss, Uwe Kantimm Jochen Mader, Marvin Larsen, Hendrik Koster, Ulrich Lohr, Klaus Hierl.

Thorben Paulus, Gunther Kogleck, Julian Kreutz, Josef Bihler, Simone Petsch, Reinhard Kebben, Christian Schutz, Ronny Hahn, Mirko Skeide and not forgetting, last year and IRRC Superbike wildcard at Frohburg, Daniel Widmer.

Both Belgian Championship WBB races were won by fifty-one years old Belgian star, 2015 and 2017 IRRC Superbike Champion, Sebastien Le Grelle.

Like a bolt out-of-the-blue, announced before last weekend, IDM organisers announced the series withdrawal from the legendary, iconic, fan-favourite Schleizer Dreieck.

Now made official, provisional IDM dates for next season, read as follows:

Sachsenring (8th-10th May), two Czech rounds at Brno (29th-31th May) and Autodrom Most (26th-28th June), Oschersleben (31st July-2nd August).

Assen in the Netherlands (14th-16th August), Nurburgring (4th-6th September) and Finale at Hockenheimring (25th-27th September).

As we are-used to, next year will be full of varying changes but hopefully we will see again the great road races in Germany, principally Schleizer Dreieck and Frohburger Dreieck, Flugplatzrennen in Waldurn plus Classic races at Zschorlauer Dreieck, Oberlausitzer Dreieck, Scheggerotter Classic GP or Autobahnspinne in Weixdorf.

There are a-lot-of supporters additionally for special hill climb road races at Luckendorfer Bergrennen.
