Since 2024 a World Superbike Championship round host, the Italian ‘Cremona Circuit Angelo Bergamonti’ (2.341 miles in distance – first opened in 2011), welcomed last week the return of Alpe Adria Championship (previous series visits in 2021 and 2022) and World Sidecars (series premiere at this circuit) competitors.
Specified roads experienced pilots, tackling Alpe Adria Championship races included:
Michal Filla (P1 x2/DNF – SBK class), Michal Prasek (P5 x2/P3 – SBK), Jiri Broz (P9 x2/DNF – SBK).
Tomas Svitok (P3/P2/P3 – SSP), Croatian duo Karlo Grsic (DNF/P1/P3 – STK 600) and Teo Sekulic (P7/P3 – Cup 600) plus Italian ultra-lightweight category specialist Lorenzo Tiveron (P6/P3 – GP 125).
World Sidecars victories went to 2024 World Champions Harry Payne/Kevin Rousseau (Saturday Sprint Race) and 2025 World Champions Sam Christie/Tom Christie (Sunday Main Race).
As across all Championship rounds, there was a lot of drivers, passengers well-known to roads scene aficionados, which are showcased below.
The last two rounds of this year’s World Sidecars Championship will be at Assen aside BSB (19th-20th September, coinciding with IRRC season finale at Frohburger Dreieck) and the Sidecar Festival at Oschersleben (3rd-4th October).
This weekend, Sidecar thrills take to the roads at the Schottenring Historic Grand Prix in Germany. Three wheeling alumni entered include TT winner, eight times World Champion Tim Reeves, Mike Roscher, Markus Schlosser/Lucas Krieg, Bennie Streuer/Manon Vissenberg and Markus Venus/Thomas Hofer.
