First opened in 1997, the German Motorsport Arena Oschersleben (2.279 miles long race-circuit), which traditionally hosts the prestigious, end of season (3rd-4th October – 2026 dates) Sidecar Festival, incorporating World Sidecar Championship final rounds, hosted last weekend, round four of this year’s Euro Moto (previously known as IDM) series.
Pilots with differing strands of real road racing experience, competing included double IRRC Supersport race winner from Schleizer Dreieck in 2025, Marvin Siebdrath, no stranger to IRRC Superbike podiums, Freddie Heinrich and new Circuit de Chimay Super Twins lap-record holder, Sasha De Vits (main article photo from Chimay Open Trophy, spotlights the number nineteen plate on his RS660 Aprilia mount).
The next Euro Moto Championship event will be at Assen (Dutch TT circuit – 14th-16th August) and will coincide with Oliver’s Mount Hill Climb meeting, French Hill Climb race in Marlhes, Schottenring Historic Grand Prix in Germany and opening Manx Grand Prix qualifying session.
Back to the above mentioned ‘Cathedral of Speed’ TT Circuit Assen, the recent Jack’s Casino Racing Day featured fourteen times TT winner Peter Hickman, making his debut on Wiz Norton Racing Rotary tackle ahead of Classic TT endeavours, 2018 IRRC Superbike Champion Danny Webb (Pepsi Suzuki RGV 500 KS89 equipped – original ex-race bike of Kevin Schwantz), Dominic Herbertson, Timothee Monot, Howard Selby, all participating in the Isle of Man Classic Superbike races.
