William Dunlop set the pace in supersport qualifying at Kells Road Races, as he marked his return to pure road racing action in the best possible way.
Piloting CD Racing’s YZF R6 Yamaha William set lap speed of 104.928 mph to finish quickest, whilst Derek Mcgee continued his excellent form by finishing second fastest showing impressive pace on Wilson Craig Racing’s CBR 600 Honda.
Finishing third in qualifying was John Walsh as Logan Racing’s Neil Kernohan impressed finishing fourth fastest, Neil is set to this year compete for the first time on the mountain course at the 2015 Manx Grand Prix.
Eighth place finisher in 2014 Duke road race rankings championship Seamus Elliott and Sam Wilson finalised the top six overall in qualifying.
Brian Mccormack showed good pace in finishing tenth quickest during a qualifying session dominated by William Dunlop’s return to competition.
Despite the disappointment of missing out on the vast majority of race week at TT 2015, William Dunlop has proved today his world class pure road race quality.
He will start favourite for race victory tomorrow in what is set to be a thrilling supersport 600 race at Kells Road Races.
