Kells: Sweeney Dashes To Grand Final Triumph

Just one race to go at Kells, the big one, the Eccles Court Agencies Ltd Grand Final.

Pre-race favourite Michael Sweeney unlocked an early 0.748 lead, after opening lap action.

The following lap would see 65-plate holder Sweeney up the ante, expand the gap to newly second placed Marcus Simpson to 2.13 seconds. From here, Sweeney’s grip on race leadership, grew lap on lap.

By the sixth, final lap’s conclusion, the Skerries rider was 4.323 seconds in front of top fifteen Senior TT finisher Simpson.

Joining Kells 2026 quadruple wins hero Sweeney, Simpson on the Grand Final podium was Kevin Keyes, edging Ryan Whitehall in the clash for third.

Brian McCormack, also for periods, dicing for P3, ended fifth whilst fellow countryman James Chawke, Richard McLoughlin, P6, P7, were-covered by 0.230 of a second.

Darryl Anderson pocketed eighth, Caomhan Canny formerly of Scott Racing attained ninth with Manx GP great Andy Farrell swooping the final top ten leaderboard position.
