TT Bound Lawrence Scoops Overall Victory At Cliffhanger Hill Climb

Based in Gladstone, New Zealand, the Cliffhanger Hill Climb, although as titled a Hill Climb, has more than a touch of a road racing vibe about it, given the open roads, and smooth riding style required to master the fast flowing course.

With this in mind, it was no surprise to see leading New Zealand roads talent Jay Lawrence, claim overall victory last weekend at Gladstone, powering his 33 year old GSXR 1100 Suzuki steed, to a quickest lap time of 2 minutes 09.973 seconds.

Nearest challenger to TT 2019 bound Lawrence, was YZF R1M Yamaha mounted Ryan O’Neill (2.11.709), whilst third place on the time, result sheets went the way of Shanon Dellow (2.18.09).

Fourth, fifth place finishers Grant Homan (2.18.491), Terry Moran (2.19.239), both lapped at under the 2 minute 20 seconds mark, whilst ten riders overall within Class 1 for 1000cc machines from modern day, yesteryear backgrounds, dipped under the 2 minute 30 second barrier.
