TT 2018: Monday Practice – Holden/Cain Head Birchalls In Opening Timed Sidecar Practice

In glorious conditions on the magical Mountain Course roads it was Silicone Engineering Racing’s John Holden/Lee Cain who set the pace in a high quality opening Sidecar practice session of TT 2018.

Holden/Cain’s standing start lap speed of 113.663 mph was more than enough to propel them to the top of the time sheets, as they underlined why they are considered one of a select group of crews who are capable of winning both of next weeks Sidecar encounters.

The Birchall brothers Ben and Tom latest TT expedition began in solid style finishing second quickest, lapping at close to the 111 mph mark with a lap speed of 110.937 mph.

Fellow TT greats Dave Molyneux/Dan Sayle (110.508) piloting the Yamaha powered DMR outfit, which has a quite distinctive black, silver livery, finished marginally quicker than rising stars Alan Founds/Jake Lowther (110.338).

There was disappointment for Carl Cox Motorsport’s Tim Reeves/Mark Wilkes, who endured a protracted practice session having stopped on their opening timed lap at the Black Hut.
