TT 2018: Ian Pattinson Ends TT Career With Solid Top 30 Finish

Concluding a TT career that has spanned 12 years, yesterdays Pokerstars Senior race saw 2005 Junior Manx GP winner Ian Pattinson conclude his final TT campaign with a solid top 30 finish.

29th within the record breaking race, as throughout his 20 plus years of Mountain Course competition, he produced another consistent, accomplished performance, along the way lapping at close to the 123 mph mark.

When you look back at Ian’s TT career, since stepping up from the Manx GP in 2006, he’s competed for top level teams such as Martin Bullock Racing and Phase One Yamaha, plus has more than mixed it at times with many of the star names of the modern era.

Results wise his TT CV includes a personal best finish of eighth in the 2007 Superstock TT, plus overall 12 top 15 finishes.

Always smiling, a true Mountain Course stalwart, a racer you can always tell loves every minute of TT action, ‘Pixie’ epitomises the true spirit of the TT.

Paying tribute to his great TT achievements, the Weardale Racing team for which he has competed for since 2011, stated via Facebook:

“Well that’s an end of an era. 22 years of racing the Isle of Man circuit and never been on his backside…. 75 replicas and clean sheet with no accidents.

Thank you all for the support its been a blast. Thanks to our loyal pit crew Richard Doug and of course Paul who has been busy running around and dealing with stuff for two weeks, for years.

50 years old and the time has come to call it a day. The race leathers have been hung up for the last time. Thank you so much Martin Bullock you are responsible for this lol and if it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t be here. He did wave to you and your mums spirit on the last lap.”
