Alongside surpassing the 131 mph mark for the first time, Friday afternoon’s Pokerstars Senior TT also saw Josh Brookes officially become the fastest Australian racer in TT history.

Holding fifth place from lap 2 on-wards to the completion of the showpiece Senior race, the former British Superbike champion piloting the striking silver liveried SG7 Norton on the sixth and final lap lapped at a very impressive 131.745 mph, to place him now amongst the 12 quickest Mountain Course exponents of all time.

Brookes pace also illustrated the progress made by the works Norton team, with which he has enjoyed sustained positive moments with at the last two TT meetings.

Reflecting via Twitter on a great end to a very productive TT 2018, which also yielded him a brace of top six finishes within the Monster Energy Supersport races, the reigning Senior Classic TT race winner stated:

“So that’s it, TT is over again. 5th in the senior and a new PB 131.7 mph. The Norton is a fans favourite and I’ve loved racing it for all of you.

So rewarding to see all the progress being waved to spur me on. Thank you very much.”
