Two time Aberdare Park Welsh Open winner Dan Cooper, recorded yesterday another landmark moment, in what has already been a first class roads career, by securing a new personal best TT result of fifth, in the Bennetts Lightweight TT.
Having wrapped up a podium finish at the North West 200, Dan knew he had the tackle to propel him to a standout result, at TT 2017.
Nearing the pointy end of the practice week leader board, many where tipping him to contend for a podium finish.

Ultimately finishing fifth aboard his own teams KW Electrical Services/CMS/SB Tuning backed ER6 Kawasaki, still an excellent result, a “happy enough” Dan stated:
“I knew the Lightweight race would give me my best result and although I really wanted to finish on the podium, I’m happy enough with fifth and my best ever TT finish.
I’m not sure if we chose the wrong tyre or if the shock lost pressure but it wasn’t quite handling right and I was a bit frustrated with how the race went.
However, I lapped quicker than I’ve gone before on the bike and fifth place in a TT race is a result to be proud of.”
Dan concludes his eighth TT Races campaign, tomorrow, in the blue riband, six lap Pokerstars Senior race.
