York’s Joe Thompson is hoping to sample in the near future the recently announced three day Barry Sheene Classic, Gold Cup events at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough plus Wales only roads meeting, the Aberdare Park Road Races.
14 times a race winner at Scarborough, Thompson prior to the Covid-19 pandemic wreaking havoc with the 2020 closed roads schedule was planning to return to the TT Races, tackling the Superbike, Superstock, Senior races on a Thompsons fish and chip restaurant, Rutland Plastering backed GSX-R 1000 Suzuki.
Speaking recently via his Facebook racing page, he stated the following:
“By the looks of things we are going to get some road racing and also some BSB.
I am so happy to have competitive bikes supplied by family and Thompsons Fish and Chips Restaurant for all the races I plan to compete in which includes the Bennetts British Superbike Championship Superstock 1000, Oliver’s Mount and hopefully Aberdare Park Road Races!
With the current situations we are looking extremely hard for some financial support from businesses or individuals that would like to join our family run race team and become a part of our campaign.
We can work a package out between us for any budget, every little helps and hopefully together we can go racing and achieve what we set out to do!”
