One of a select group of overseas racers to have secured a race win at the Southern 100, 2014 Senior Manx GP runner up Michael Moulai, is the next racer to take part in Road Racing News, ten questions challenge.
Consistently regarded amongst New Zealand’s leading pure road racers of the modern era, his answers to the popular series of questions, are as follows:
Q1: Favourite National Roads Meeting?
“Without any question, all of the Mountain Course meetings.”
Q2: Favourite Racing Bike?
“The F06 Ducati 999, I was lucky enough to own and race one a few times, wish I still had it.”
Q3: What’s the best part of competing on the roads?
“The sheer challenge of having to deal with such a variance in surface conditions, circuit furniture, the speed and jumps.”
Q4: TT, North West 200 or Ulster Grand Prix?
“TT for sure.”
Q5: Most Respected Rival?
“Anyone who has the balls to race on the roads, I respect.”
Q6: Best roads moment thus far?
“I guess finishing runner up in a very controversial 2014 Senior Manx Grand Prix, along the way lapping at just under the 120 mph mark on the 600.”
Q7: Is their one place or country in the world, where you would like to see a roads meeting held?
“I would to see the Hawkesbury road race back again in New Zealand, it’s like a NZ TT.”
Q8: Who’s your road racing hero?
“I think it has to be Bruce Anstey.”
Q9: Supersport or Superbike?
“Tough call, I enjoy the Supersport bikes, but I’m just a bit too big on them so I guess it has to be the Superbike.”
Q10: Pole position or fastest lap?
“Fastest lap, any day.”
