Team Winfield have announced their 2016 Senior Classic TT line up, which will consist of 23 times TT winner John McGuinness competing for the fourth year in a row for the outfit, plus new addition to the team Manxman Conor Cummins.
Since the Classic TT Races began in 2013, Team Winfield have been consistent front runners in the 500 races. Despite the Paton’s been considered by many the dominant bike in the 500 class, Roger Winfield’s team to date has not secured a Classic TT victory.
Main reason for this has been reliability problems, showcased in 2014 and 2015 when John McGuinness was leading, before issues struck his Paton mount.

Now joined at Team Winfield by his current Honda Racing team mate Conor Cummins, they are both anticipated front runners, as they aim for their first Classic TT race win.
Roger Winfield, Team Winfield Team Owner, said on his outfit’s line up, that has a Honda theme about it:
“We had some terrible luck with John at the Classic TT and we hope this year will see an end to that and we can enjoy watching him complete four fast laps.
There is no doubt that if he crosses the finish line, he is going to be among the leading riders and his times in practice previously make him unofficially the fastest rider ever in this class.
We are delighted to welcome Conor back to the team. He has ridden with us at the Island Classic in Australia for the past few seasons and always done a great job.
This will be his first ride on the Paton for us and there is no doubt he has the speed to be one of the favourites for victory come the race.”
