Derek Sheils recorded a series of superb results at this years Cookstown 100. Derek competing on CD racing ZX10 Kawasaki superbike produced a dominant performance in the open race with victory by 0.7 of a second, the reigning Irish road race superbike champion was never led in the race.
Supersport race A saw Derek Yamaha mounted and in a fantastic race throughout he acquired a highly respectable third place finish. Runner up in the 2009 newcomers A Manx Grand Prix was victorious in the supersport invitational race on Friday after a race long battle with Derek Mcgee.
Grand final race saw him achieve 4th place finish to round off a brilliant start to the season for a rider who is just getting better and better in road racing, next road race coming up for Derek is the Tandragee 100 where last year he achieved 2nd place finish in the feature race.
