Shirlaws Motorcycles backed Steven Haddow enjoyed an excellent roads debut last weekend, at Oliver’s Mount.
The Fife based rider, a specialist on Pre Injection 600’s, immediately gelled with the tight, twisty roads of Scarborough, as he wrapped up race honours, in the opening Junior B race.
A second place finish, within the Solo Open B class followed, leading the 600 challenge, on the Shirlaws Motorcycles ZX6R Kawasaki.
Day two of competition at the mount, began in the best possible way, with a second successive Junior B race victory, along the way lapping under the 1 minute 55 seconds mark.
He went onto better his new personal best lap time, by over a second, in the second Solo Open B race, recording lap time of 1 minute 53.718 seconds, on his way to finishing 2nd.
Having finished every race he competed in at least second or better, it’s fair to say Steven’s Scarborough debut, went like an absolute dream.
Planning to return to England’s only real roads venue, for the Barry Sheene Road Race Festival in July, he’s a definite one to watch at future Oliver’s Mount meets.
