Stats: Fastest Southern 100 Exponents 2010-2019

The sheer quality of competitive action at the ‘Friendly Races’ the Southern 100 during the 2010’s, is showcased by the amount of racers to lap the illustrious Castletown based Billown circuit at in excess of the 110 mph lap mark.

The three quickest racers in Southern 100 racing history, all set their best lap speeds during the iconic Solo Championship race from 2017, race winner Dean Harrison (115.500 mph), runner-up the much missed Dan Kneen (115.616 mph) and 19 times TT victor Michael Dunlop.

Despite finishing in third place, it was previous Solo Champion Dunlop piloting at the time the Bennetts Suzuki, who took the honours for a new outright lap record, setting a blistering new record lap speed of 115.707 mph.

Fourth on the fastest S100 racer’s list from the 10’s is four times Solo Champion Guy Martin (114.464 mph) whilst the remainder of the ten quickest Billown course competitors during the past ten years is finalised by the following:

Twice Lightweight TT Champion Ivan Lintin (113.448 mph), reigning TT Privateers Champion Jamie Coward (113.395 mph), the late but great James Cowton (112.921 mph), 2019 IRRC Superbike series winner Davey Todd (112.571 mph), Michael Evans (112.555 mph) and Rob Hodson (112.545 mph).
