With the Coronavirus outbreak forcing the abandonment of the 2020 meeting, Imatranajo organisers are already focusing upon 2021 competition at Finland’s most iconic race circuit.
2021 action at Imatra is planned to take place from the 2nd-4th of July, just over a week before the Southern 100 takes centre stage.
World famous, evoking great Moto GP memories from the 60’s, 70’s, early 80’s, allied to an ever enthusiastic turnout of spectators, it’s not a surprise to see Imatranajo rank amongst various racer’s favourite roads events.

In recent years star names to enjoy race winning spoils on Finnish soil have included the most recent IRRC Superbike Champions, Danny Webb and Davey Todd plus Michael Rutter, the much missed Dan Kneen, Sebastien Le Grelle, Vincent Lonbois and 1998 Senior TT winner Ian Simpson.
Local heroes to excel have included Pauli Pekkanen, Juha Kallio, Erno Kostamo and five times World Sidecar Champion Pekka Paivarinta.
Yes Imatranajo competition for 2020 is cancelled but like various road race organisers, Motorclub Imatra are keeping positive, keeping their spirits up and are determined to make 2021 a special year for real road racing in Finland.
