Spring Cup Preview Part 5 – Sidecar Races
There’s something special about Sidecar racing at Scarborough. Whether how close the racing is, how spectacular the outfit’s look going through Jefferies Jumps.

Viewing close up the driver, passengers talents, it’s a must for roads fans to witness three wheeling competition at England’s only real roads course.

Current three wheeling Scarborough ‘King Pins’ Lee Crawford/Scott Hardie, start it’s fair to say firm favourites for success in all 3 of this weekend’s BDS Motorcycles Sidecar encounters.

Set to pilot the Suzuki powered Team A.R.C outfit, they are heading into Saturday, Sunday’s competition in top, top form having dominated the opening rounds of the FSRA British F2 Sidecar Championship.

It’s going to take faultless, truly world class performances from their fellow competitors to defeat them over the weekend.

Anticipated leading challengers to Crawford/Hardie include former TT winners Conrad Harrison/Andy Winkle.

The popular Harrison/Winkle pairing know what it takes to secure top level results at Scarborough and it wouldn’t at all be a surprise to see them scoop at least one race win during the first Spring Cup since 2017.

Joining Harrison/Winkle on the entry list are fellow regular Scarborough front runners, father/son duo Steve Ramsden/Matty Ramsden.

Consistently battling for top three finishes or better, they are certain to be in the mix for more first rate finishes at North Yorkshire’s own ‘Mini TT’.

Added ones to watch include 2009 Senior Manx GP winner Michael Russell teaming up with Ben McBride, Shaun Chandler/Ben Chandler (White Rose Racing) and John Lowther/Matty Rostron (AWB Engineering).

Finalising the diverse 11 strong entry list are Paul Riley/Jody James, Lee Eastell/Andy Haynes, Alun Thomas/Adam Nix, Chris Schofield/Shaun Parker and the Moore’s driver Bruce and son, passenger Ashley.
