Crawford/Hardie Maintain Unbeaten Record

Team A.R.C’s Lee Crawford/Scott Hardie maintained during the past weekend, their 100 percent race winning record in 2021 at the second round of the British F2 Sidecar Championship at Donington Park.

As at previous Darley Moor, Brands Hatch based meets, Crawford/Hardie proved to strong for the top calibre opposition which included eight times World Champion Tim Reeves.

The opening Donington three wheeling race stint saw the Suzuki powered pair surge to a new Formula 2 lap record of 1 minute 13.673 seconds.

This alongside consistent relentless pace allowed them to enjoy an eventual race winning advantage of 6.461 seconds over nearest challengers Alan Founds/Jake Lowther.

Race 2 proved a touch more challenging for Crawford/Hardie, who had to battle their way from dropping during early proceedings down to 6th back to first.

Once hitting the front, they gradually pulled away from the chasing pack before the red flags emerged towards the conclusion of lap six with the Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough maestros over three and a half seconds clear of Formula 2 Cup pace setters, overall second place holders Harry Payne/Emmanuelle Clement.

With the race result determined by the confirmed classification on the sixth lap of the scheduled 10, Crawford/Hardie took the victory spoils by 3.592 seconds over Payne/Clement.

Crawford/Hardie’s British F2 Sidecar Championship lead stands at a very healthy 28 points, with lead pursuers being former TT Races competitor Sean Hegarty/James Neave.
