Spring Cup Preview Part 4 – Ultra Lightweight Races

Spring Cup Preview Part 4 – Ultra Lightweight Races
There is a great mix of hugely talented next generation International Road Racers, event veterans, Manx GP podium finishers, Oliver’s Mount specialists within the entry list for the Ultra Lightweight races at the eagerly awaited Spring Cup.

Amongst those considered strong favourites for overall honours include ‘Tommy Club’ member Dan Ingham.

Runner-up within the opening Ultra Lightweight Manx Grand Prix encounter from 2018, Melton Mowbray’s Ingham has quietly impressed in recent times, same applies to local favourite Nick Anderson (RMDK Racing).

Like Ingham, entered on 400cc machinery, he’s another contender for wins as he aims to kick start his latest Scarborough racing campaign in first rate fashion.

Added 400 mounted racers to not discount from taking top three finishes or better include local favourite prospective 2021 IRRC series exponent Mark Purslow, Stephen ‘Degsy’ Degnan and East Yorkshireman Richie Welsh, twice a race winner at this month’s BMCRC-MRO Championships season opener at Oulton Park.

250 racers wise, Goole’s Phil Harvey has the undoubted capabilities to fight for standout finishes whilst a certain Lee Johnston, Ian Stanford also feature on the entry list.

There’s also a strong line up of 125/Moto 3 competitors featuring the likes of Scarborough stalwart Tony Flinton, Adrian Skaife and PBR (Phil Barber Racing)/Falcon Racing’s Manx GP winning duo of Andrew Jackson and Tom Snow.

Further depth to the Ultra Lightweight field is provided by North Yorkshire ‘Mini TT’ debutants such as Wilson Craig Racing’s Steve Smith, Kramer Super Mono mounted Dave Walsh and pure road racing newcomer Marcus Tatchell.

Always carrying a great following, 125/Moto 3, 250, 400 machines are perennial favourites of various long-term Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough supporters.

Supporters old and new of race action at England’s sole active real roads course will no question be treated next weekend to more compelling, thrilling competition.
