A history maker at TT 2015 alongside Dave Molyneux, breaking Nick Crowe/Marc Cox’s long standing Sidecar TT lap record, Benjamin Binns who is returning to roads competition this year at the Pre TT Classic Races, is the next competitor to take part in Road Racing News Sidecar equivalent, of the popular ten questions challenge.
A close friend of Ulster GP lap record holder Dean Harrison, his answers to the series of questions, are as follows:
Q1: Favourite Roads Meet?
“Favourite roads meet has to be the Southern 100, it’s laid back, provides great close racing and is great fun!!”
Q2: Favourite Racing Engine?
“Gotta be the Suzuki engines, good BHP (Break Horsepower), good torque and pretty bulletproof.”
Q3: Best roads moment thus far?
“Standing next to my hero Dave Molyneux on the TT rostrum, after breaking Nick Crowe/Mark Cox’s lap record, may have only been the bridesmaids that day but never the less a proud moment.”
Q4: Out of the current roads meets, is their one event in particular where you would like to sidecars compete?
“Ulster GP would be awesome!!!”
Q5: Most respected fellow passenger?
“Has to be Patrick Farrance, not only mega talented, also a good friend and good opposition on track. Must add though, that I respect all passengers.”
Q6: Three Wheeling Hero?
“Dave Molyneux, to dedicate your life to racing after it took the life of his father and be so successful, has to be admired.”
Q7: What’s the best part about competing on the roads?
“The start/finish line, there’s no feeling to compare when you set off or when you finish, the adrenaline is awesome.”
Q8: Three words to describe sidecar racing?
“Love, dedication, focus.”
Q9: In your opinion, who is the greatest Sidecar TT racer of all time?
“History books answer this question, ‘Moly’ (Dave Molyneux.”
Q10: Pole position or fastest lap?
“I’ve had many Poles and a good few fast laps, but fastest lap every time. Ultimately though you wanna win as a win can never be taken away, fast laps can.”
