SGS International Armoy Road Races – William Dunlop’s Supersport Double

William Dunlop made it back to back supersport victories at the 2016 SGS International Armoy Road Races, following a first class all round performance on his own teams YZF R6 Yamaha.

Finishing victorious by in excess of seven seconds, his supersport wins at Armoy, will give him extra confidence going into the 600 encounters at the upcoming MCE Insurance Ulster Grand Prix.

Derek Sheils finished in second place, as he once again showed highly accomplished form on the Cookstown BE Racing CBR 600 Honda.

Wrapping up the top three finishers was two times Junior Manx Grand Prix winner Michael Sweeney.

B&W Racing’s Paul Jordan fourth place finisher continues to impress as does Christian Elkin in fifth place, who was the dominant winner of the 125/Moto 3 race.

Andy Farrell was sixth whilst Michal Dokoupil finished a highly creditable seventh.

James Cowton competing on his recently acquired CBR 600 Honda, battled his to way to eighth place finish.

Graham Kennedy and fellow rising roads star Adam McLean, completed the top ten finishers.

There was many a notable retirement in the seven lap race, which included Michael Dunlop after the warm up, Dan Kneen encountering problems with the Mar Train Racing YZF R6 Yamaha.

Plus Derek McGee, who was holding second place on the last lap, crashed out of contention, the Noel Williamson Racing rider is ok and anticipated to compete in the open race and the race of legends.
