By Making his TT debut this year, Sam Johnson a fanatic of the Irish Road Race scene, is just one of the many who is counting down the days to the KDM Hire Cookstown 100.
Speaking recently about the topic, Sam had this to say;
“Really looking forward to it after a good 2017 I like the circuit and people involved with the club not a bad word to say about it!
I am riding with CDR (Colin Dunlop racing) for a second year competing in Supersport races, Open and KDM Hire Cookstown 100 races. This will also be my first outing on a new ZX10 Kawasaki, which I’m looking forward to.
I have had some good races around the Cookstown 100 like the Supersport one last year, which sticks in my mind! good close racing from the off with a good group of fast guys. My aim is to just keep on improving around the course and knocking time off all round at every circuit we go to, working towards the front safely!.”

He went onto add:
“A lot of work is going in on all fronts so just want to get going now! I would like to Thank everyone involved with the club/MCUI who put the events on! Everyone who turns up to watch and buys programmes etc to help support it!
I want to thank Colin Dunlop, Phillip tweed, David McWaters MWC photography, Andy Potts/JK construction, Stanley Stewart/HBS, Sign NI, and everyone who took spots on the visor for this year and calendar spaces! And of Course Deb!
Also just like to mention the injured riders fund as its something close to my heart, after losing a friend last year through racing (Dario) we will have a bucket for the fund on the awning, and will be collecting for them so would love it for everyone to get behind them again for 2018!
