Despite an up and down weekend, two times TT winner Davey Todd left the Brands Hatch GP circuit, still the National Superstock 1000 Championship leader.
On pole position for the opening 14-lap stock 1000 encounter, Cheshire Mouldings BMW’s Todd race circulation came to an abrupt halt on lap five after been collected by Scott Swann’s stray bike.
Putting to one side, Saturday’s disappointment, yesterday’s racing saw Todd battle to P3, continuing his record of swooping at least one podium finish or more from all 2024 stock-1000 rounds thus far.
Todd is now 12 points in front of nearest Championship chaser, Joe Talbot.
Fellow BMW Motorrad jockeys Josh Brookes, Peter Hickman had solid rather than spectacular times at Brands, racking up between them six top fifteen finishes, the best of whom been 2024 Senior TT runner-up Brookes eighth place from BSB Race Two.
For Honda Racing UK’s Dean Harrison, his results foray of 16th, 18th, 19th place finishes, didn’t tell the full story.
Speaking post BSB 2024 round-six, Harrison team-mate of reigning Champion, Championship leader Tommy Bridewell, stated:
“It’s been a bit of a frustrating weekend to tell the truth, and the results don’t necessarily match the progress that we’ve made throughout the weekend. It’s the first weekend that we haven’t had any little problems or curveballs to deal with which has meant that we have been able to build from the start.
I’ve lapped even quicker again today than I have previously, but I got a bit stuffed at the restart in the first race today. Then in race two we worked our way up and into the points before getting shuffled back towards the end of the race.
We were in a train of seven or eight riders and once one comes past, they all just follow, and it gets a bit scrappy. Focusing on the positives though, we’re lapping faster and making progress.”
