Go, Go Time At Armoy

Go, Go Time At Armoy

It’s go-go time at the Armoy Road Races as the countdown towards the third Irish road race of 2024, soars.

The past few days has seen more productive, positive Armoy themed news.

In-excess of 130 competitors are confirmed to be competing including Senior TT winner Davey Todd (Milwaukee BMW), Michael Browne (IN Competition Aprilia), Derek Sheils, Michael Sweeney, Dominic Herbertson (BE/RK Racing).

Paul Jordan (Jackson Racing), Neil Kernohan, Phil Crowe, Sam West, Jamie Coward (KTS Racing Powered by Steadplan) and late entry addition, new FHO Racing BMW team member, the ‘Ramsey Rocket’ Conor Cummins.

Sponsorship momentum continues as well with a new company on-board, County Tyrone located Go, backing the second intertwined Super Twins/Super Mono race.

Reaction from Go, about their involvement in the ‘Race of Legends’ was provided by Daniel Loughran:

“We are very excited to be sponsoring the Armoy Road Races for the first time this year.

The Armoy Road Races has a reputation for being one of the most iconic sporting events and this is testament to the hard work and dedication of the Club members and volunteers that have made the last 15 years such a success.

We’re really looking forward to the event and can’t wait to see who takes the top spot on the podium.
I would like to wish the riders, spectators and everyone involved with the Armoy Road Races a safe and enjoyable event.”

AMRRC (Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club) Chairman, William Munnis, additionally said:

“We are extremely delighted to have the support of Go for this year’s event.

Go has been a keen supporter of road racing events in Northern Ireland for quite some time and the team’s love of the sport clearly aligns with the club, making their sponsorship an ideal fit. Sincere thanks to Daniel Loughran and the wider team.

We are very grateful for your generosity – without sponsors like Go, this event simply would not come to pass.”

He continued:

“The Super twin race is usually one of the most highly contested races with a three-way photo finish in 2022 with Jamie Coward taking the win.

Last year, Michael Dunlop won the race on the KTS Racing – Kawasaki, normally ridden by Yorkshire racer, Jamie Coward, who missed out last year due an unfortunate accident days before the 2023 race but returns this year to take the ride in this fiercely competitive race.

With just days to go until the road racing begins, our club members and volunteers are busy preparing to make this year’s Armoy Road Races one of the best yet.”
