Record Breakers Smiths Racing Set To Step Away From Racing

This weekend’s season ending BSB round at Brands Hatch, will mark the final time the family run Smiths Racing project will show up on an event entry list.

BSB showdown regulars, British Supersport Champion’s on multiple occasions, they’ve enjoyed countless incredible moments at International roads events.

Supersport class winners with Gary Johnson on their TT Races debut in 2014, they’ve also worked with the likes of Michael Rutter, Guy Martin and David Johnson.

Since 2017 world’s fastest road racer Peter Hickman and the Gloucester based Smiths team have taken International road racing to new heights. At a glance highlights have included:

2017 Dundrod 150 Superbike victory
2017 Ulster Grand Prix – hat trick of victories

2018 North West 200 Superstock Race 1 success
2018 Superstock TT victory – new existing Superstock lap record
2018 Senior TT victory – new existing outright lap record

Whilst Smiths Racing as we know it will conclude post the BSB Brands Hatch meet, the core team base including a certain Peter Hickman will continue working together in 2021, with title support from a still to be confirmed well connected individual.
