Multi times a top six, top ten finisher at England’s sole closed roads course, East Ardsley’s Steven Procter is the next racer to take part in Road Racing News, growing in popularity Oliver’s Mount Top 8 series.
Third in last August’s Senior Manx Grand Prix, his answers to the Scarborough themed set of questions are as follows:
Q1: First memory of Oliver’s Mount?
“My 1st memory of Oliver’s is actually my 1st ever road racing memory, Spring Cup 2012, it was absolutely freezing and a real eye opener but a great day.”
Q2: Favourite part about racing at the mount?
“I love the stop start nature of the track, and the fact it’s only 70 miles from my house.”
Q3: Favourite section of Scarborough course?
“Favourite section has to be Jefferies Jumps through to Farm Bends.”
Q4: Best moment thus far at Scarborough?
“Getting 6th in the opening Senior open race, from the 2014 Cock O’The North Road Races, in iffy conditions on my 600.”
Q5: All time Scarborough racing hero?
“Dean Harrison. I remember watching him over Jefferies Jumps at my first meeting, just thinking wow.”
Q6: Is there one machine in particular that you would like to race at Scarborough?
“Not in particular, I’d have to say my 600 as I’ve not ridden anything else.”
Q7: One word to describe Oliver’s Mount?
Q8: Most respected racing rival at Scarborough?
“Frank Gallagher, as he’s a top boy!”
