Third within the IRRC Supersport series of 2013, a Super Twins class winner at Oss, leading Dutch roads talent Marcel Zuurbier is the next racer to take part in Road Racing News, growing in popularity Oliver’s Mount Top 8 series.
Zuurbier who has competed at the prestigious Gold Cup meeting, answers to the Scarborough themed set of questions are as follows:
Q1: First memory of Oliver’s Mount?
“2011 Gold Cup, my first visit to Oliver’s Mount. Freezing cold, a lot of rain, crashed in the hairpin but really proud to share the grid with many top road racers that I only knew from the online race reports.”
Q2: Favourite part about racing at the mount?
“The great atmosphere and the warm welcome that everyone gives us.”
Q3: Favourite section of Scarborough course?
“Jefferies Jump! We don’t have this in Europe.”
Q4: Best moment thus far at Scarborough?
“Have enjoyed every lap, all best moments.”

Q5: All time Scarborough racing hero?
“Must be Dean Harrison. He passes me in qualification, his speed was so impressive! Nice to see how he has grown in the sport.”
Q6: Is there one machine in particular that you would like to race at Scarborough?
“My own build Kawasaki Z650 Kawasaki Super Twin! Unfortunately I cannot take part in the races at Oliver’s Mount because of some problems with International licenses. I really hope I can come back in the future and try this bike at this track.”
Q7: One word to describe Oliver’s Mount?
“Legendary”
Q8: Most respected racing rival at Scarborough?
“Gary Graves, for sure! A nice guy that helped me learning the track.”
