2018 Senior Manx Grand Prix winner, a member of the prestigious ‘Tommy Club’, The Peoples Bike team regular Matt Stevenson is the next racer to take part in Road Racing News growing in popularity, Oliver’s Mount Top 8 series.

Ripon’s Stevenson who has been a top three finisher at the ‘Mount’, answers to the Scarborough themed set of questions are as follows:

Q1: First memory of Oliver’s Mount?

“First time I went I was on a HP4 (BMW), it was wet and I just touched the throttle up under the bridge and it was spinning up in a straight line it was that greasy, so you can imagine what I was thinking!”

Q2: Favourite part about racing at the mount?

“Favourite part is probably that there always is a few good mates there racing.”

Q3: Favourite section of Scarborough course?

“My favourite section of the track is either the jump or the back straight, only places you can get some speed up really.”

Q4: Best moment thus far at Scarborough?

“Finishing 6th in the Cock O’The North as a newcomer I would say.”

Q5: All time Scarborough racing hero?

“Hero would be Dean (Harrison) or Guy (Martin) I think, close call! Both lightening quick!”

Q6: Is there one machine in particular that you would like to race at Scarborough?

“Yeah I’ve not been yet on my newer R6 Yamaha but my old one was ace round there. Or Maybe a little Moto 3 bike would be good round there even a 600 is a bit long legged for that spot really.”

Q7: One word to describe Oliver’s Mount?

“Braking!”

Q8: Most respected racing rival at Scarborough?

“Trev or some people call him Stephen Parsons! Always have some good battles with him but he always just had the legs on me.”
