The opening supersport race of the 2013 Vauxhall international North West 200 started in mixed conditions all round the circuit. In the end the race brought victory for Alastair Seeley on the Gearlink Kawasaki who started from the second wave of riders. Alastair was at one point 8 seconds behind race leader for the majority of the race, Michael Dunlop who eventually finished in second place.
Finishing in third place was Tyco Suzuki’s Guy Martin who rode consistently throughout to record a podium finish. Bruce Anstey finished in fourth place whilst Stuart Easton took fifth place on the Mar-Train Yamaha R6 supersport bike. Dean Harrison rounded out the top 6 finishing in a highly creditable sixth place on the Ian Bell motorcycles R6 Yamaha.

Ian Lougher competing for the WA Corless Joinery/Jackson racing Honda team finished 11th, William Davison recorded a fantastic 12th place finish whilst Simon Andrews competing in his first race on roads circuits on a supersport bike finished in 13th place.
