By Reigning lightweight Manx Grand Prix winner Mark Purslow, made an impressive Oliver’s Mount debut, at the Spring Cup National Road Races.
Piloting his own teams ER6 Kawasaki backed by TAB II Classics, Mark gelled quickly with the road race circuit, known to many as a mini TT.
The opening super twins race, saw wet conditions all round, showcasing his pure roads craft, Mark battled away, to eventually finish the six lap race, a fine seventh and leading newcomer.
In 37 days time, he’s set to compete for the first time, at the Isle of Man TT.
It’s an experience that the Welshman is hugely looking forward to, as he aims to keep up his star quality form around the Mountain Course, having made a quite brilliant debut last year at the Manx Grand Prix.
Set to compete in the lightweight TT, which for TT 2016 becomes a four lap race, he is targeting a top ten finish, as he competes against’s many of the world’s leading pure road racers.
Following TT 2016 rest of Mark’s planned roads outing’s includes competing at the post TT races, Southern 100 and Armoy Road Races.
He’s also set to return to the Aberdare Park Road Races, a meeting he always enjoys participating in.
Looking towards additional competition at Oliver’s Mount, Mark is planning to return in the future, on his ER6 Kawasaki and a 675 Daytona Triumph.
When Mark Purslow won the 2015 lightweight Manx Grand Prix, it’s fair to say many a pure road racing aficionado, where surprised to see a newcomer to the Mountain Course victorious.
Having impressed at the Spring Cup National Road Races, we all now known, that in reality this result was’nt as surprising as it first seems, Mark is in my opinion a naturally talented pure road racer.
Don’t at all be surprised to see him in the next few years, begin to establish himself as a contender for a podium finish, in the lightweight race at the TT Races.
