Manx GP Top 6: Andy McAllister

Manx GP Top 6: Andy McAllister

Senior Support class winner at Tandragee and Kells in 2019, improving roads talent Andy McAllister is the next competitor to take part in Road Racing News rising in popularity, Manx GP Top 6 series.

A top eight finisher within the 2018 Newcomers A race, his answers to the Mountain Course themed set of questions are as follows:

Q1: When you first competed at the Manx, what was your first initial thought of the Mountain Course?

“My first initial thought was, I hope I have the focus and skills to learn and flow through all the corners. Being used to much shorter, repetitive racing.”

Q2: Most memorable Manx GP bike?

“My most remarkable or memorable Manx bike would be a 500 Norton. They without doubt are a beautiful machine.”

Q3:
Most treasured memory from the Manx?

“My most treasured memory is hard to decide because my first year there in 2018 was so emotional. I think the most would be, the seconds before I was released into the Newcomers race.

My eyes were damp from moments before, putting away my emotions. That stillness and focus, the tunnel vision looking at my first markers, down Bray Hill. It’s as humbling as meeting the queen I reckon.”

Q4: Is there one specific Manx GP competitor that you look up to?

“The most specific competitor that I look up to is a good mate, Damian Horan. He is never too busy to answer questions or give me advice.

He has given me so much time and advice over the last couple of years at home races and also at the Manx. Proper sound lad!”
