Opening practice session at the 2015 Macau Grand Prix, saw humid conditions greet competitors.
It was Martin Jessopp who made the best possible start to the meeting, by going quickest following lap time of 2 minutes 28.970 seconds.
Piloting Riders Motorcycles S1000RR BMW, Martin edged out 23 times TT winner John McGuinness for top spot in practice, by just 0.051 of a second.
Third fastest was eight times Macau GP winner Michael Rutter, showing top class form on Penz 13.com BMW.
Fourth quickest was Horst Saiger, who impressed hugely on Saiger-Heidger Macau Race Team ZX10R Kawasaki.
11 times TT winner Ian Hutchinson, got off 2015 Macau GP meet off to a steady start by finishing fifth fastest on Paul Bird Motorsport ZX10R Kawasaki.
Top six was completed by Briggs Equipment BMW’s Peter Hickman, who proved why he is in contention for podium finish.
East Coast Racing’s Lee Johnston was seventh, Gary Johnson eighth, David Johnson ninth, whilst top ten was finalised by Stuart Easton on the SMT Racing YZF R1M Yamaha.
Leading newcomer was Russ Mountford, piloting VRS Racing CBR 1000 Honda Fireblade, Russ showcased his proven pure road racing craft, as he begins to gel with the streets of Macau.
Coming up soon, is opening qualifying session, which will give us all a full indication of who is truly on the pace, going into second qualifying tomorrow, and then race on Saturday.
