Lightweight, Junior Manx GP lap record holder James Hind is Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough bound for the first time in April, as he samples the two day Spring Cup meeting.
Since his Classic TT/Manx GP heroics from last August, Hind has been confirmed to step up to the TT Races, competing for the BTS/NLC Components and Team ILR squads.
Set to bring with him to Scarborough his own TZ 250 Yamaha mount, Hind will also pilot at the revived Spring Cup meeting S1-R Paton machinery for the Team ILR (Ian Lougher Racing) with Mark Coverdale outfit.
Speaking via http://www.teamilr.com/ about his link up with the vastly respected team who are also working this year with Japan’s Masayuki Yamanaka, Italian star Stefano Bonetti and fellow TT debutant Joe Loughlin, he stated:
“I’m really excited to be linking up with Ian Lougher and Team ILR in 2020. To work alongside someone of Ian’s standing in the sport is an incredible opportunity and one that I know will take my racing to another level in terms of what I will learn from him. I can’t wait for the season to start!”
Team ILR team owner Ian Lougher, the most successful rider in Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough history, who is also set to compete at the Spring cup, heaped praise a plenty upon his team’s highly rated new signing.
Commenting via http://www.teamilr.com/, the 10 times TT winner stated:
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work with Jim Hind, a young rider who came to my attention at the 2019 Manx GP where he impressed me with not only his obvious ability but also his calm, unassuming nature and hard work ethic, traits that I look for in our team’s riders.
At Team ILR we are known for supporting, nurturing and developing young talent, and Jim fits in with our team ethos perfectly. As always, we will give him 100% support in the next natural progression of his career.”
