It’s been an overall excellent day of practice, qualifying sessions at the KDM Hire Cookstown 100, with proven event specialists, multi Irish roads champions, rising stars a plenty all hugely impressing.
Runner up in Open (A) qualifying, Mullingar’s Derek McGee piloting the ex Gearlink Kawasaki, previously piloted by current BSB racer Ben Currie, powered to Supersport pole position.
McGee’s time of 1 minute 25.754 seconds, proved more than enough to hold off the attentions of McAdoo Kawasaki’s Adam McLean (1.26.162), who finished just over 0.4 of a second behind the current Duke Road Race Rankings champion.

Support classes wise, Andy McAllister headed the Senior Support brigade, whilst Junior Support qualifying honours were acquired by Eoin O’Soichru.
