The KDM Hire Cookstown 100 looks set to have a Russian presence for the first time, as St Petersburg’s Danila Krasniuk makes the lengthy trip to the County Tyrone, Northern Ireland based event.
A history maker last year, by becoming the first racer from Russia to compete at the Manx Grand Prix, he went onto secure a top 60 finish within the Mylchreests Junior race, along the way lapping lapping in excess of the 106 mph lap mark.
Returning to the topic of his upcoming maiden Cookstown tenure, it’s going to be quite the adventure with he and his team beginning their travels on the 26th of August.
Once they make it to Northern Ireland, they will undertake a 14 day quarantine, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
After the 14 day quarantine, it will only be two days till competition commences around the world famous Orritor Circuit for Krasniuk and his trusty CBR 600RR Honda mount.
Like fellow Cookstown newcomers WH Racing’s Julian Trummer, MTP Racing’s David Datzer, he has the core racing credentials behind him, allied to valuable road race experience to give next month a good account of himself on his Irish roads debut.
