James Cowton battled through the pain barrier, to secure multiple top draw results, at the Cock of The North Road Races, at Oliver’s Mount.
The super twin races saw James wrap up series of second place finishes, following top quality all round performances on the Cowton Racing by Radcliffe’s ER6 Kawasaki.
Junior A supersport encounters would prove also highly productive, with fifth place finish in the opening race, backed up by battling third place finish in junior A supersport race two.
Another more than creditable result was sewn up in the feature race, the Cock O’The North. Piloting the Cowton Racing by Radcliffe’s CBR 600 Honda, James went onto finish sixth, finishing in the process leading 600 mounted competitor.
Having endured a high speed incident at Drinkwater’s during the Royal London 360 Quantum Superstock TT, many including me, thought last weekends Cock Of The North Road Races, would prove a challenging one for James.
The 2014 Duke Road Race Rankings champion showed true grit and determination, to record a hat trick of top three finishes.
A frequent collector of multiple podium finishes at the Southern 100, the Billown based meeting coming up on the 11th to the 14th of July, is one of James favourite meetings.
In my opinion the Kilham based rider, will start a dark horse for wins in the supersport races, plus don’t discount him from standing on the top step of the podium in the super twin encounters.
