IRRC Horice: Magical Lagrive, Czech Roads Legend Cerveny Take Supersport, Superbike Qualifying Spoils

IRRC Supersport:

Showcasing his proven qualities on the fast, flowing, unrelenting Horice course, Wepol Racing’s Matthieu Lagrive turned on the style on route to banking IRRC Supersport qualifying honours.

Fastest in Q1 by just over 1.69 seconds, the second qualifying session saw the French star top the time sheets by plus two seconds, registering an ultra impressive best lap time of 2 minutes 18.232 seconds.

Leading the chase to YZF R6 Yamaha mounted Lagrive was Dafit Moto Racing’s Kamil Holan (2.20.323), whilst third place on the combined qualifying times sheet by just 0.003 of a second! went to LSE Racing’s Christian Schmitz (2.21.430).

Fourth quickest as aforementioned only 0.003 behind Schmitz was Betontransport supported Petr Wiesenberg (2.21.433), who quietly impressed many with his pace, turn of speed.

Lead newcomer of last week’s FonaCAB Ulster Grand Prix Laurent Hoffmann (2.21.972) placed fifth quickest as event wildcard Tomas Toth (2.21.980) finished an excellent sixth fastest.

Rounding out today’s ten fastest IRRC Supersport class exponents were Max Gaube (2.22.310), Michal Vecko (2.22.370), TT 2019 competitor Miroslav Sloboda (2.22.577) and SBRacing Team’s Erwan Bannwart (2.23.167).

IRRC Superbike:

Emerging fastest from an compelling, captivating morning, afternoon of IRRC Superbike qualifying at Horice, was none other than local favourite, Czech road racing legend Marek Cerveny.

Illustrating again why he is so revered in his home nation, the affable Cerveny took overall qualifying honours, after recording a blistering lap time of 2 minutes 15.396 seconds in Q2.

Second quickest behind twice IRRC Supersport Champion Cerveny was Q1 pace setter Erno Kostamo (2.15.519), who none the less has crucially out qualified IRRC Superbike Champion elect Davey Todd (2.16.077).

Horice newcomer Todd finished overall fourth fastest, whilst sandwiching him and title rival Kostamo on the timing screens was Wepol Racing team mate, reigning series champion Danny Webb (2.15.711).

German roads giant Didier Grams (2.16.223) finished fifth quickest whilst just two more competitors lapped under the 2 minutes 17 seconds barrier, sixth, seventh fastest respectively Lukas Maurer (2.16.453) and McRace backed Kamil Holan (2.16.478).

Concluding today’s ten fastest IRRC Superbike competitors were David Datzer (2.17.845), Performance Racing Achterhoek’s Virgil Amber Bloemhard (2.17.925) and Pavel Tomecek (2.18.406).
