At 3:32 PM (local time), the Varsselring was serenaded by middleweight class super- powers, as IRRC Supersport Q2 got underway.
Q1 leader Jorn Hamberg (HMB Racing Yamaha), consolidated pole-position via a potent late session burst of speed, lapping close to Raymond Schouten’s existing Supersport lap-record.
Hamberg’s pole setting time, stood at 1 minute 49.848 seconds. Close to half a second adrift, finishing second fastest was ultra-impressive Hengelo newcomer, Performance Racing Achterhoek’s Adam McLean (1.50.343).
0.257 behind McLean, accruing the third quickest time was Derek McGee (1.50.600) who briefly topped the times sheet before Hamberg, McLean’s pace increasements.
Reigning IRRC Supersport Champion Marek Cerveny (1.50.843), Petr Najman (1.51.600), Ilja Caljouw (1.52.637) finished fourth, fifth, sixth rapidest respectively.
Third place finisher last week at Horice (62nd 300 Curves of Gustav Havel) Gary Johnson (1.52.637) finished seventh fastest with the remainder of the Supersport Q2 top ten, completed by Darryl Tweed (1.52.928), Kevin Mos (1.53.479) and Romain Cleaz-Savoyen (1.54.109).
