11 TT winner Ian Hutchinson has won the RAC (Royal Automobile Club) Torrens Trophy.
It’s the latest momentous achievement, in what has been so far a glittering career in pure road racing, for one of the most determined riders in the history of the sport.
Having fought back from a career threatening leg injury, Hutchy was back at the top in 2015, securing memorable hat trick of victories at TT 2015.
His performances on Team Traction Control’s YZF R6 Yamaha and the Paul Bird Motorsport ZX10R Kawasaki, in the supersport and superstock where for many the main highlight of the 2015 pure road racing season.
John Surtees and Murray Walker where amongst the stars to congratulate Hutchy, on receiving the prestigious Torrens Trophy award.
It’s fair to say that the 20 times international road race winner, has earned the right to be considered a legend.
When he first took to real roads action at the 2003 Manx Grand Prix, no one could have predicted the success that would follow for the rider from Bingley.
Embarking on a new challenge this season with Tyco BMW, more enterprising moments are anticipated for Ian Hutchinson, who has already proved over the years why he is regarded as one of the all time pure road racing greats.
