Announced last evening at the event press launch, a new race will be added to the race schedule at this years Southern 100, following the formation of the Hunts Motorcycles 600cc race.
28 riders will be invited to compete into the new race, which courtesy of Hunts has an impressive prize fund of £3,345 pounds, with the race winner set to take home £900 pounds.
The new encounter set to take place over 7 laps around the Colas Billown course, is set to be the final race of the 2018 running of the ‘Friendly Races’.
Speaking about Hunts Motorcycles new sponsorship deal with the Castletown based meeting, Company Managing Director, John Brown who has for multiple years backed 27 times international Michael Dunlop, stated:
“Here at Hunts Motorcycles we are fans of real roads events and have visited the Southern 100 many times in the past, always finding a warm welcome and enjoying fantastic racing.
We are delighted to be able to sponsor this new race, and look forward to a long association with the club and event.”
Southern 100 Race Secretary, George Peach added:

600cc racing is extremely competitive at Billown, and this new race will provide fans with more close and exciting racing to add to their Southern 100 experience.”
