Honda Racing X1 At Dundrod As Hutchinson Withdraws From MCE Insurance Ulster Grand Prix

Honda Racing’s MCE Insurance Ulster Grand Prix challenge for 2018, will be solely lead by three time event winner Lee Johnston, following the recent announcement that Ian Hutchinson has made the decision to withdraw from next months high speed competition at Dundrod.

16 times TT winner Hutchinson still gradually getting back to optimum race fitness, following injuries sustained in an accident within the Pokerstars Senior race of TT 2017, went through the pain barrier in May, June to compete at the Vauxhall International North West 200 and TT 2018.

Speaking today via his Twitter page, he candidly explained why he won’t be participating at this years Ulster GP:

“It’s been a really tough call, but unfortunately I’ll be missing the Ulster GP again this year, my leg is still not strong enough for me to ride how I need to.

So I’m concentrating on getting everything 100% for next year. Thanks to Honda, Padgetts and Noel (Johnston) for supporting my decision.”
