As his saying goes, “Go Big or Go Home”, Guy Martin will be hoping it’s a case of go big at the upcoming Tandragee 100, as he re starts his Irish road racing career.
Having not competed at Tandragee since 2005, it’s going to be interesting to see how quickly the eight times Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup winner, re adjusts to the 5.34 miles long roads circuit.
Set to pilot a Superstock CBR 1000RR SP2 Fireblade in Honda Racing colours, his entry into the open and feature races, adds spice and additional star quality factor to the opening Irish roads meeting of 2017.
Speaking about his hugely anticipated return to Tandragee, Guy said via his Facebook page:
“I want to get as much time on a bike as I can and I want to get back to enjoying racing bikes again. All this winter I’ve been racing on the beach, which has been mega.
I didn’t quite get the Tiger on the podium with Nigel Racing Corporation but not far off this weekend. Now I want to get back to road racing. No pressure, just enjoy it.
Irish lot are bloody great. I haven’t raced at Tandragee for 12 years and I’d only been road racing 3 years back then. It’s bloody hairy, so looking forward to it. Thanks very much for the support, most appreciated as ever.”
