Matthew Rees had an excellent Manx Grand Prix debut. The rider who in 2014 has had a consistent season of road racing with highly creditable results around Oliver’s Mount and Aberdare park road races enjoyed consistent practice week setting respectable lap speeds.
Onto newcomers a race and Matthew was into race lead at Glen Helen on opening lap holding a three second lead before maintaining a slight advantage out front before by end of lap 1 holding second position having lapped at 115.690 mph only 2.6 seconds behind new race leader Billy Redmayne.
Despite dropping back to sixth position by end of the three lap race it was still a fine all round performance which proved that he had adapted rapidly quick to the mountain course.

Junior Manx Grand Prix proved to be an ultra consistent one for Matthew who went onto record 17th place finish on GT superbikes backed ZX6 Kawasaki having produced another highly accomplished all round performance.
